Pear-shaped jeans – average length

To help you choose the right size, please measure over the very widest part of your hips and bum as shown in the image below. This might be lower than you think to get the very widest part.

Emma (long hair, black t-shirt) is wearing a size 12 in the average length jeans. She is 169cm tall, has a 79cm waist and a 117cm hip.

Beth (short hair, white t-shirt) is wearing a size 8 in the average length jeans. She is 165cm tall, has a 74cm waist and a 101cm hip.

If you don’t have a tape measure to measure around your hips, you can use a ruler to measure a pair of jeans you already have that you like the fit of and compare it to the garment measurements below.

For example, if you have a pair of jeans that fits well over your hips and bum and it measures 50cm across the hips, then you’d go for a size 10. Have your ruler roughly at the base of the fly to get that hip measurement as shown below.
